Hiring a Fleet Manager- Oakhurst Dairy Job

Oversee and coordinate all fleet specifications, procurement, maintenance, management, and disposal of all transportation related assets. Ensure all regulatory and licensing requirements are achieved as well as proper record retention as required for all Federal Motor Carrier / DOT audit requirements. Maintain efficient and cost-effective maintenance programs within budget constraints to achieve a safe and reliable fleet best suited for efficient delivery operations with multiple vehicle formats.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and streamline the most effective vehicle configuration and specifications to minimize maintenance, inventory and training costs through standardization of equipment while projecting a positive brand message
Identify and drive the most effective training content, methods, and materials to support a highly functional technical workforce. Conduct employee appraisals with appropriate pay adjustments to support goals and recognize quality and efficient performance
Oversee, coordinate, and effectively negotiate with vendors to secure the best possible new assets and vehicle features as well as maintenance parts and programs to minimize cost per vehicle mile
Effectively manage the asset procurement and retirement process including all regulatory, taxes, registrations, tolls, and insurance requirements
Develop and maintain maintenance transportation asset programs that maximize reliability and meet all federal regulatory requirements. Maintain proper records to meet DOT audit requirements
Maintain effective programs, training, and general housekeeping to maximize productivity and safety
Develop and maintain an effective DVIR system with visibility to all operating divisions
Coordinate and balance daily work order requirements with effective PM schedules
Develop and maintain effective maintenance and performance metrics that accurately measure performance and highlight opportunities for improvement. Track and report all vehicle miles, fuel consumption, and other equipment utilization such as refrigeration equipment
Coordinate all contract / vendor services to effectively manage lease and purchasing programs
Assist with vehicle accident and incident investigation to identify contributing factors, minimize reoccurrence related to equipment, and track all costs to repair or refurbish assets
Acquire and retain a team of quality diesel technicians and grow continuous improvement principles
Manage all fleet and delivery related purchasing and procurement including bulk and OTR fuel purchasing
Participate in all company mandated training as directed my management
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to immediately reporting any and all accidents and injuries
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management
Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of distribution and/or logistics management or relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of distribution and/or logistics management or relevant experience
Understanding of Federal Motor Carrier operator laws and vehicle requirements
Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, training, and personnel management
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Able to learn new computer software
Skill in organization and prioritization
Understanding of DOT transportation regulations related to lawful operation
Excellent customer service, communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Experience and knowledge utilizing enterprise fleet maintenance software systems
Reasonable work order reporting to achieve adequate tracking while minimizing productivity loss
Effective inventory management, cost-control, development and adherence to standards

Pay: $63K-$70K/year
