Class A Chemical driver Job
The service operator is responsible for providing timely, accurate, and safe deliveries of bulk hazardous material. The service operator provides excellent customer service by collaborating with dispatchers and customers daily.
Job description:
Candidate will go through training upon hiring.
Inspect vehicle before and after use according to DOT and company maintenance checklist.
Loading trailers to fill customer owned tanks as assigned. Most loading will be done by the shipper, however, most off-loading will be required by the service operator.
Maintain DOT vehicle documents ensuring they are properly completed.
Work closely with customers to ensure their expectations are meet.
Listen to and report customer complaints, concerns or questions to Dispatcher.
Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
Assure the truck remains in proper and safe working order. Follow maintenance schedules for routine PM’s and services.
Attend routine safety meetings for additional safety updates, compliances and protocol.
Comply with all Federal, State and local laws regulating safe driving and proper handling of hazardous materials
Immediately notify the Dispatcher of malfunctioning equipment or conditions that need immediate action.
Maintain appropriate driver’s license with Hazmat, Tanker endorsements and TWIC.
Specifics of opportunity:
Route’s range from 50 to 1000 roundtrip miles. Many loads going into Texas and or within a 300 miles radius. This is not an over the road transportation service. Lanes and equipment are dedicated and customer will expect service operator to return immediately back to shipper’s facility for additional dispatch or preparation for the following day. Service Operators are home most nights but must be willing to travel the 1000+ mile radius in-order to meet some customers demand from time to time. You will not have to wait on a return loads if there’s not a load ready for you upon initial dispatch out of LA however, this service will help all parties involved.
Pay: 1200-1600 weekly
