SUMMARY
The following is an outline of the primary duties, procedures, responsibilities and description of a HGB Helper. Will assist delivering and pick up of beer and nonalcoholic beverages for HGB customers. This position involves assisting in the delivery of beer to our customers in the most efficient and professional manner. HGB demands the highest level of professionalism and customer service. This job description is not intended to be all inclusive and this position will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Employee must be able to perform job safely, without harm to himself, fellow employees or property.
Must possess a valid and in good standing drivers license.
While representing HGB, will be courteous to all HGB customers, their employees, and individuals met while at the customer's place of business and throughout the course of the work day.
Responsible for delivery and pick up of all beer and nonalcoholic beverages to and from HGB customers.
Will be assigned to a route and driver.
Will assist Driver with any add-on cases and/or barrels (kegs).
Will assist Driver with pre-trip inspection, in accordance with DOT regulations, to be recorded daily on a VCR (Vehicle Condition Report) as per DOT regulations and HGB policy.
Will assist Driver with break down of truck load to adequately accommodate any additions of cases or barrels (kegs).
After reaching destination, will place product in stock area determined by customer. Location may be at ground level, basement or upstairs.
Upon return to the HGB facility, will refuel vehicle and check all fluids; must indicate amount of fluids added to truck on VCR.
Will conduct a post-trip vehicle inspection as required by DOT regulations and HGB policy.
Will clean vehicle and return all keys and documentation to Tower.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but not uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid and current NJ Drivers License. New Jersey Commercial Drivers License (CDL), Class A or Class B, or a New Jersey Commercial Drivers License (CDL) permit. Active Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Card.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Must be able to lift cases ranging from 18 to 35 lbs. safely and repetitively throughout the course of a work day. Helper must be able to lift and unload no less than 250 cases and no more than 1500 cases.
Must be able to assist in delivery of 1/4 kegs (average weight 80 lbs.) or 1/2 kegs (average weight 180 lbs.), use a dolly (hand truck) and bumper (shock absorber) safely.
Must be able to bend continuously while carrying the above mentioned cases and kegs throughout the course of the work day. At times, it may be necessary to be able to lift cases over shoulders to stack them either in bay areas of trucks or areas designated by HGB customers.
Will use a hand truck safely in the course of delivery, and is expected to handle from one (1) to ten (10) cases at a time, and will also deliver 1/4 kegs (at 80 lbs.) or 1/2 kegs (at 180 lbs.).
WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Must be able to work in cold environments (refrigerated areas both at HGB or delivery locations) with temperatures as low as 10 degrees F for a period of 15 to 30 minutes, as well as normal seasonal climate changes.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; rick of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Pay: $40,000 annual starting wage
Manage choice health plan, dental coverage, vision, 401-K 50% employer match capped.
