CDL Class A Regional Driver- HOME WEEKENDS Job
Summary/Objective The truck driver position performs a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving and coordinating transportation plans in support of the Public Works Department.
Essential Functions

1. May plan route to insure most economical use of time and equipment.
2. Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible.
3. Find ways to conserve resources such as fuel.
4. Conduct daily pre and post trip inspections of the vehicle and report any problems or damage to the fleet manager.
5. Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.
6. Interact courteously with customers and respond to requests: assist management in resolving customer issues or suggestions.
7. Serve as a representative of the company, projecting a positive image to the public.
8. Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
9. Maintains and submits DOT e-logs, and inspection paperwork.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud when in the field.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position.
Travel
Travel is out of the area and overnight travel is expected.
Required Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. 1 year of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Clean driving record.

Pay: .42 - .44 / mile
